  • Monitor relevant news and stay up-to-date on developments in Big Tech policy, legislation and regulation
  • Build relationships with external partners and manage coalition campaign efforts
  • Create and maintain project trackers and keep campaign plans up to date
  • Support digital strategy to engage Accountable Tech supporters in public-facing campaigns
  • Project manage cross-functional teams to support all of the above
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned
  • Six months in, you’ll know you’re successful in this role because you’ll:
  • Be regularly pitching campaign ideas to your colleagues and in all-staff meetings, or leading brainstorms to kick-off the development of a new campaign
  • Be writing campaign plans, soliciting useful feedback from your colleagues and manager, and be implementing them
  • Understand the nuances of AT’s approach to policy and be able to explain our policy positions to a colleague or partner
  • Be engaging with external partners and representing Accountable Tech in meetings and at events

About You:

  • You’re deeply concerned about how social media companies pose an existential threat to our information ecosystem and democracy and are driven to bring about long-term structural reforms
  • You’re committed to the values of diversity and inclusion and excited to bring an equity-lens to tech accountability work
  • You’re organized, detail-oriented, and focused even in a fast-paced work environment
  • You’re comfortable working on tight deadlines and balancing multiple projects; you’re confident when it comes to to prioritization especially in rapid response moments
  • You have experience working with partner organizations, coalitions and/or allies on shared goals or campaigns
  • You’re a strong communicator who isn’t afraid to speak up or ask questions; you’re skilled at leading presentations or pitching a campaign idea
  • You have experience designing and executing strategic advocacy campaigns
  • You thrive in rapid-response moments
  • You’re eager to use policy and research to tell a story that moves people
  • You’re comfortable taking on evolving responsibilities
  • You have 4+ years of experience with organizing or advocacy campaigning

In addition, it would be a bonus if:

  • You have experience working in politics, media, and/or technology
  • You’re familiar with tech policy issues
  • You’re experienced in project planning and comfortable with lateral management

Benefits
